Initial Network LAN Installation

    Installing the ImagineTime program to the workstations and the data file to the server:

  • You must be running Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 with all critical updates and service packs installed on the workstations.
  • Determine version of MS Office installed on workstations. Download the full version installation that closest matches the installed MS Office. If using Office 365 without a full version of Office, please download the FULL VERSION: ImagineTime MS Access 2013 Runtime.
  • On our website, www.imaginetime.com, select Download the Licensed User Download. 

  • Enter your company registration information (red box) exactly as it appears in the registration email.
  • Select the appropriate FULL VERSION (see blue box). Select Download ImagineTime (green box). Save file, do not run from website.
  • Once the download is complete, run the executable as Administrator by right clicking and selecting Run As Administrator.
  • On the Agreement screen, scroll to the bottom of the agreement (blue arrow) then select "I accept the terms" (red box) and select Next (green box)

  • Select the program features to install:
    1. Time & Billing (Practice Management) (red box)
      1. Select the red X beside Workstation Module for local workstation, then select local hard drive
      2. Select the red X beside Practice Management  - Data File
      3. Next
    2. Due Date (Finish-Line)(without Time & Billing) (blue box)
      1. Select the red X beside Workstation Module for local workstation, then select local hard drive
      2. Select the red X beside Finish-Line Due Date & Workflow  - Data File
      3. Next

  • Once installation is complete, open the blue ImagineTime icon on your desktop. A popup will display "Please wait a moment while ImagineTime links to the data file." Select OK.
  • Sign in using User ID: Openbal, password: IT. Select Login
  • The registration wizard will open. See registration email for specific information. Once complete, program will close.
  • Move the TBData.mdb from C:\Program Files (x86)\ImagineTime to a location on the server. 
  • Open ImagineTime, you will see a prompt to link to the data file, select Cancel. Browse window will appear, browse to the TBData on the server and select. Program will link and close.


Auto-Updating Network Installations

Network installations of ImagineTime offer a streamlined updating process:

    Settings: The Upgrade Notification setting must be configured for each staff person using ImagineTime. 

  • In the Setup/Utilities menu, choose Enter/Edit Staff Information. 
  • Select a Staff person from the Search menu
  • Click on the Permissions and Options tab. 
  • Bottom left you will notice an Upgrade Notifications drop down with the following options
    • No notification of new updates - for Terminal Server settings and those without internet connection
    • Notify of network downloads - common setting for most staff
    • Notify user of new ImagineTime releases - one to two users with System Manager permissions
  • Save

    Auto-Updating:

  • When opening ImagineTime user set for Notify user of new ImagineTime releases will be prompted to download the new release
  • After downloading and installing, program will update and close.
  • Open ImagineTime and user will be prompted for Repair/Compact. Setup/Utilities > General Utilities > Repair Utilities > Repair & Compact Database and Exit
  • Open ImagineTime and user will be prompted to update  Network Data location. Select Yes.
  • Now other users that Open ImagineTime will receive prompt to update their workstation if they are set for Notify of Network Downloads.


Manual Updating of Network ImagineTime Installations

There are two options: Select Update ImagineTime from Ribbon or Download update from the website.

    1. Select Update ImagineTime from Ribbon

  • Verify the version as well as data location of the current workstation's ImagineTime installation by clicking on the Microsoft Office logo or File at the top left of the screen and choose About ImagineTime
  • Make note of the "Data Location"
  • Click the Microsoft Office logo or File on the top left of the ImagineTime screen and choose "Update ImagineTime".
  • After the update is complete, have all users exit ImagineTime
  • Restart ImagineTime. The program will ask you to re-link to the data file, select OK.
  • Start ImagineTime and you may be prompted to run Repair/Compact. While everyone is still out, go to Setup/Utilities > General Utilities > Repair Utilities > Repair Database and Exit
  • The remaining workstations can be updated while others are in the program. Network users set for notification (see Auto-Updating ImagineTime) will be prompted to update. 


Initial Terminal Server/Citrix Installations

    Windows Servers 2008r2, 2012, 2012r2, 2016 and 2019 will support ImagineTime.
